SUMMER HOLIDAY

We've just got back from up north having spent two great weeks at our house.
We haven't actually moved back into it yet as The Old Girl has to go back to Canada until June but the tenants let us use  our house while they've been touring around South Island.

It really brought home to us that we made the right decision buying our house for both the house itself and the location.

'Our' beach

Being able to step into safe and sheltered waters from the end of our drive is a treat and we took advantage of that even though the water was cooler than two summers ago.

We caught up on some of our usual scenic walks around the area and added a new one that starts from Whangarei Basin and goes up to Whangarei Falls.

Smugglers Bay walk

Hatea River walk

We came back to the big smoke today as The Old Girl's birthday is tomorrow and she has to catch up with some people. Her birthday bash is on Friday and Richard (of RBB) is coming up by train to represent Wellington. I hope he behaves himself and doesn't bring too many of his alter-egos (Jesus would be useful though if the wine runs out).

Happy new year to you and your good lady. The scenery looks stunning.

Bin is coming but he's disappointed that you expect him to clean up. Angry Jesus said he'd only come if you went back to the faith. I'll be there though.

I once read Clif Richard's autobiography and he was surprised at his own success as obviously he has trouble staying in tune. Mum hated him.
