The regular reader (and sometimes his plus one) is aware that I write the exclamation "sheesh" when something annoys me.
This is a neat little word that encapsulates frustration, annoyance, anger, disappointment, disgruntlement and lots of other emotions succinctly without the need for a lot of writing.
Sheesh!
Try it out - be my guest.
It's important to know that this wasn't one of Sean Connery's sayings. He didn't to my knowledge go about saying:
"She shells sheashells by the sheashore"
"So" I hear you asking "what's the origin of the word 'sheesh'?
While I don't like the encroachment of Ai into everyday language, media and communication it's becoming inevitable. Google search now defaults to it so that often, when a search question is entered the first answer that comes up is from AI Overview.
In the case of the word 'sheesh' though most of the answers favour AI Overview's explanation. This is hardly surprising as AI simply takes in all or most published information and condenses it down so that a majority opinion results.
A couple of the online dictionaries prove this:
But we can balance that out with a couple of other opinions (that I don't agree with):
So now you know ... anyway, it's getting late in the morning and I'm still in my pajamas. It's time to get dressed.

Oh well. at least it's introduced a new word for the 'Nui boys to play around with.

Joke = 2/10
"Maybe I’ll write some blog posts - some proper ones in the form of essays very much unlike this one and the others you’ve scribbled."
Well, that hasn't happened.
Reaching promised goals = 2.5/10
Sorry, I got busy doing other things.
Go over to Robert's blog and annoy him for a while.
It's nearly glass of wine time here.
I'm really pleased that there is a hole in your arse because you are capable of talking through it.
That was rude. It was expected (given your education streaming in 1966) but still rude.
7:28 pm! I'm surprised that you're still up.
It must be time soon for your meds and hot milk and for nursie to tuck you up in bed.
Sweet dreams (dry ones the caregivers hope).
