It will be a drop in the bucket with all profits going to the performers and the promoters and will do bugger all for tourism and any increase in consumer spending in Auckland and New Zealand.

I’ll have to get busy selling and giving away a lot more stuff and then getting everything packed up. That’s the downside of owning a large house - you fill it up with stuff.

Yes, I agree. It’s bizarre that just recently Luxon’s government slashed funding for arts, culture and music yet finds all that money for damned overseas rock musicians.

Art and music doesn't need to be about money.
No but schools and community groups still need funding like eg orchestras.
Why do orchestras need funding? Most amateur orchestras charge members a subscription fee. That would cover getting music and paying for a practice space. Many schools charge students a fee for lessons. The teachers are paid by the government. Most schools have quite a few instruments that they have acquired over the years.
