When your doing a new post choose "link" , cut and paste it into it then give it a name in the space above.
Very clever editing. A PC could do it now. If one had time it would be fun to try.

Yes, Len Lye's progressive work has now been superseded by technology. It is a shame really that younger people now take for granted what we see and saw as very clever. Artistic effects in films for example, ones that we marvelled at are now just ordinary. Kids today see ads on TV and 'Matrix-type' films featuring outstanding special effects and take them for granted, no longer have that sense of awe. Another example of the dumbing down of modern living I guess.
I was only three at the time so can't say I remember it- but wow, it's fantastic. The effect with the elephants is cool.
It's not just only their ability without technology that is impressive, but also how creative and innovative they are in little conservative NZ in 1984 (making it courageous too).
