WOO-WOO!

The new owner of our house up north today sent me a catch-up email and in it said this:

"Just curious, we also "felt" a bit of a "presence" in the back of the house which was no worries at all. But a visitor who is very religious stayed and got somewhat agitated. So we have a kaumatua round to say a few words which amazingly has left the back of the house feeling warmer, drier and lighter. No doubt stranger things have happened. Just curious if you know of any history there for us to pass on with the story of the house to future visitors/ occupants".

What the hell?

We lived in that house for 16 years and the only spirits we came into contact with were Cognacs, whiskies, gin, vodka and rum with methylated for cleaning.

I don't believe in ghosts and certainly not that Holy one that Robert bangs on about but have been aware of eerie occurrences in the past. You may remember that I wrote posts about them years ago. No? Well, nevermind, here are a couple of links to them:

WAKE UP CALL

THEY'RE HERE

This house we're living in now doesn't have any mysterious auras, sounds. sensations or 'bumps in the night' other than the disconcerting double jolt from that earthquake last month. The only creaking is from the floorboards under the carpet as a result of modern (1990s) building techniques for townhouses where they use particle board and don't screw it down strongly enough.

Not "what the hell", what the purgatory. That's what I've heard. It's very rare for God to allow damned souls to revisit earth. Most often 'ghosts' are souls in purgatory wanting help in the form of prayers or Masses said for them. Though sometimes the ungodly can open portals and allow evil entities into their house. Just saying!

Oh!
Tell me more.
Where did you hear that? You say it like it’s a proof.

Oh, standard academic protocol, really—I believe the seminal research paper was published back in 1984 by Drs. Venkman, Stantz, and Spengler. Peak peer-reviewed stuff.

Bullshit, bullshit,
It all sounds like bullshit to me!

I mean that rubbish about god, souls, purgatory etc - you know, the usual claptrap you go on about.

Like "Splat" you mean.

Yes, roughly speaking.

So you think what I wrote is like the centre piece of the back of a chair. Strong and well supported?

‘Slat’.
I think you peed on yourself there Robert.

In furniture design, a splat is the flat, vertical piece of wood or material that forms the central upright section of a chair's back. It connects the top rail to the seat structure, providing back support for the person sitting down while serving as a primary decorative feature. Whereas a slat might be found on a fence, under a bed or in a Venetian blind.

Fascinating.

Weird things are happening in blogland in the Hutt.
The Jabbas seem to have lost the plot.
It’s just as well I’m here to maintain the sanity.
