I saw Bill Bailey at the Aotea Centre last night.
Man, what a performer. This guy has to be the best one man show performer I've ever seen.
He is very clever, interacts brilliantly with the audience, has a devastating deadpan form of humour and is an accomplished musician.
He had the audience enthralled.
Highlights for me were:
In asking how on earth John Key ever got re-elected he likened him to a supermarket plastic bag that gets stuck up a tree. How it got up there no-one knows but no-one can be bothered getting it down.
A remake of 'Happy Birthday' as if Kurt Weill wrote it. Creepily dark and depressing.
Abba's 'Waterloo' as performed by a German Death Metal band.
I hope you can get to see him.
