* And it has nothing to do with that pathetic "See more" comment that Richard keeps making on the blogs under the delusion that it's a joke.
In the bay outside our house there is a safe haven for boats with lots of moorings.

Moorings can be purchased or rented with some moorings costing up to $10,000.
These are called 'swing moorings' and are traded like freehold carparks in cities. They are managed by the local council and I guess that there is a 'rates-type' annual charge for this.

Now $4000 is a lot of money for people who don't own a boat but, we can rent it out. The going rate is $30 a day. This means that 120 plus daily rentals would cover the purchase price (I don't know yet what the maintenance costs are or the commission that the hiring company would charge).
The estate agent though said that owning a mooring and adding that into the chattels of the house would add to its saleability. We're keen to do this so I hope that he can confirm that there is one for sale.
If you read this you indeed did 'see more' and have added to your fund of knowledge.
No need to thank me.

To read about sea mooring is boring.
To read about bass and violin is uninspiring.
