Saw her as the act before Bob Dylan. Very loud lady. Interesting relationship with Mapplethorpe, who is very interesting!
Well, if you want to look at photographs of guys' bums (I don't) but I know what you're saying.
I saw Smith with Dylan in Christchurch in the late 90's. She outshone him.
Yes she is a loud woman but she was a damn good rock 'n' roller. More recent stuff is a bit more refined (check out '12' and 'Banga'.
She is iconic, having worked with most of the New York 'rock inelleigentsia' and some of the albums are indelibly etched into my psyche (as music often is).
