COOL DOG

I found a photograph of Rosie the beautiful golden retriever cross that was part of our family some years ago. Richard has met her. He took her for walks when he visited us when we were living in Point Chevalier.

This photograph was taken at our place in Christchurch in the late 1990s.
Rosie joined in our activities and always wanted to be part of the action. I really miss her.

We decided, after Rosie died in 2008, not to have another dog as you have to make sure that you will always be home to care for dogs and frankly, the pain of having another pet die is too much. For this reason we won't get another cat either.

As it turned out, if we had replaced Rosie with another dog it would have been a problem when we went to live in Canada and England. With Willow the cat, it was a wrench for a couple of years but the tenants we had in our house willingly looked after her. It would have been more difficult with a dog.

Putting on my Psychologist hat I read you want a dog. Dogs can not only be a companion but also a link two people can share with each other thus enhancing a relationship. The death of a dog is also a lesson in reality. Get a dog!

Why doesn't/didn't Jesus have a dog?

re Robert's comment: as usual he doesn't read what is written in the post and just jumps forward to a lazy interpretation. What the fuck does he know of Lynn's and my relationship to assume that having another pet will 'enhance' it? This matches the arrogant stance he takes with his silly catholic religion.

Oops. The Wine Guy was a bit mean there but he had indulged in a couple of ordinary sparkling wines and followed that with a big glass of chardonnay (not from Marlborough). I blame it on the wine really.
