HANDYMAN

HANDY MAN - JAMES TAYLOR

"What are you doing?" asked The Old Girl.

"Blokey stuff." I replied.

"I don't like it when you do blokey stuff" she said "there's always an accident."

Charming.

The blokey stuff I was doing was repairing our DENON 5 disc CD changer.

Here's a pic of what they're supposed to look like:

Here's what it looked like half way through my 'repair' job.

"Are you sure you know what you're doing? she asked.

"Of course" I replied "I'm following a Youtube video of how to do it".

She seemed satisfied and wandered off. I didn't have the heart to tell her that the Youtube video was on how to repair a SONY CD changer.

Long story short - the 'repair' job didn't work.  I put everything back together with only, in good old IKEA tradition, a couple of spare parts left over which I hid at the bottom of one of the the CD drawers

In fact afterwards, not only doesn't the CD changer work but now the loading tray is stuck permanently half open - like a dead animal's tongue sticking out.

"Is it fixed?" she asked later.

"It's got a FIIK error*" I answered "We'll have to get another one".

"Oh" she said and wandered off back to the study.

I'll have to go around all the OP shops looking for a replacement when we get back from our holiday.

Yes, sorry about the mundane nature of this post Robert.
I guess we all can't reach the giddy heights of your posts about $5 chairs, cold-looking beach scenes, insane christian ramblings and asking us to watch paint dry.

This should liven up my evening.

Best open a chardonnay then .... oh, I note that your comment was made at 5.05 PM .... best open another chardonnay then.

OK hat boy. How's your evening going?
You know it's pretty lonely (and silly) having an argument on your own.
Robert throws a hand grenade in and then buggers off to pray or something.
I have to be up early tomorrow morning - 4.30 so won't be staying up too late tonight.

That reminds me. I won't have my computer or laptop with me on holiday so won't be posting for a week. Sorry about that. I guess that you can tell Robert all about your practice in your daily posts .... or, over a week .... couple of posts. Maybe you can reply to his misogynistic, sexist, anti-LGBT, racist, right wing, anti-socialist, anti- reason and catholic catechism themed posts. Remember that he loves you though.

I bought another Denon cd changer on Trade Me tonight.
I wasn't rude enough to buy it at $1 so paid $49 plus postage.

I'm also away - until Monday.
Robert will have to write for god. I hear he reads blogs.

This deconstructed poetry form of Robert's is groundbreaking.
Not many people have done this before - maybe William McGonagal and a few others.
It's like Eton Mess and other food recipes where the ingredients are all mixed up willy nilly.
Robert must write out the poem properly and then mix up all the words and resemble them randomly.

Aren't you supposed to be getting up early.
Ah, the power of Robert's poems!
