PELÉ FLOP

I played golf yesterday in ideal conditions and played the entire front 9.

Normally I only play about 7 holes and 'duck and dive' a bit - leaving out a few boring holes and playing another one or two from the back 9. Yesterday I played in order and played well. I didn't play perfectly though and, on a couple of occasions followed Donald Trump's example and kicked the ball out of the rough and back on to the fairway. I wasn't playing with anyone else and wasn't keeping score though so this was OK.

Donald Trump, that fat and wholly dislikable narcissist plays a lot of golf. In his presidency he played more golf than any other previous president yet pretended that this was otherwise. His lies of course were supported by the right wing media like Fox, Newsmax and OAN.

He has a nickname in relation to his golfing. It is Pelé.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento known as Pelé, is a Brazilian former professional footballer regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and labelled "the greatest" by FIFA. He was among the most successful and popular sports figures of the 20th century. During his playing days, Pelé was for a period the best-paid athlete in the world.

The orange fool was given this nickname because of his habit of kicking the ball out of the rough and back onto the fairway and from the fairway closer to the green. It seems that he was oblivious to the fact that his caddies and others noticed this and, in his typical bullying way knew that no-one would contest the false scores he wrote in his scorecard.

It beggars belief that a president of the United States of America, who is so much in the public view and who, more than most other people should be setting a good example, can do this. The guy is despicable. Let's hope that his disregard for rules and conventions will be his ultimate undoing.

Well, that started well. How did Don get to take over? I hope you're not drinking Marlborough chardonnay. Be careful with that stuff, old fellow, or I might need to ask you to return your badge.

I can honestly say that Marlborough chardonnay hasn't touched my lips for quite some time.

Thanks for the badge - it "went straight to the pool room."
