SUNDAY RIDDLE #3

OK, it seems that we have a lot of smartypants amongst the readers. *

You found that The Mundane Curmudgeon's riddle was, well, a bit mundane.
I've asked the Philosophical Curmudgeon to set you another riddle that can test your, er, intellectual capabilities.

Take it away TPC.

Thanks TC. I thought that a little paradox probability might be just the thing for those smart ars.. readers of ours. Let's see how they go with this:

Four balls are placed in a bowl. One is Green, one is Black and the other two are Yellow. The bowl is shaken and someone draws two balls from the bowl. He looks at the two balls and announces that at least one of them is Yellow. What are the chances that the other ball he has drawn out is also Yellow?

Should we have a winner that person, providing that they haven't cheated, will win a chocolate fish but I must warn you that P = 0 in this case.

Good luck (as if that ever helped anyone).

* Actually, all of them.

One chance in three, unless he pissed on the balls.

Well, it looks like that chocolate fish is safe.

1/5 is correct but I must remind you of the adage “cheats never prosper “ so the chocolate fish remains unawarded.
Well done for your honesty Robert. I’m not licensed to hear your confession however so I suggest that you immediately go to see your priest just in case you get hit by a bus this week.
