Robert, in a comment on my previous post denied that he had ever said that Richard was going to hell.
I don't know if this is right or not but I'm sure that it was him that suggested it. I would't have and it would be a bit strange if Richard condemned himself to hell.
Robert's denial has this pretty strange comment:
"I believe God wants everybody with Him in heaven"
This is pretty strange even for him. If this god of his "wants everybody with him in heaven" then why create this ridiculous and convoluted scheme using sin, confession and redemption ? Why not just say that everyone will be in heaven regardless?
The next bit is quite illogical:
".... and the only way to go to hell is to want to!"
Who the hell (sorry) would choose torment over bliss unless that person was a very extreme masochist?
Yes, old Mr Logic died another death at the hands of Robert.

You can only dream.
Peter raises an interesting theological question. Namely why did not God not just create everyone perfect to start with?
There might be a universe wherein He did.
But I prefer a deeper reason.
God wanted to create us equal to Himself! That is almost mind boggling.
The next question is how?
If we are to be coequal to God, and above even the highest angels, then we must have a highly refined manner of being that is above all lower ones. We must have all the abilities, nearly, of God and have chosen that existence.
But there will be a learning curve. For us to achieve a place by His side we have to prove our worth. A violinist has to practice to be a soloist. If you want to sit up there with the best of the best you need to practice what Jesus has taught and live it day to day.
Practise is the verb.
Well Robert, that made about as much sense as usual.
