WATCHING THE DETECTIVES

WATCHING THE DETECTIVES

The Old Girl and I share a lot of interests in art, literature and film so generally we are in agreement when it comes to watching things on TV. We both like crime/police/detective series and can binge for a week watching one of these on Netflix, Neon or Apple TV.

There are some things that we are not compatible on though, these are:

  • Westerns that I like
  • Marvel-type action that she likes
  • Space series that she likes
  • Rom Coms that she likes
  • Injustice films that I like
  • etc.
It's just as well that we  have two lounges in the house both with televisions.

The main lounge where we watch things together and where I watch my good stuff that she doesn't like.

The other lounge where she watches her crap programmes and films.

This is a good arrangement which means that there are no arguments. The only time that I use 'her' television is when watching SKY Fan-pass sports like rugby test matches, 20/20 cricket, Sevens etc. The TV in the main lounge won't pick up SKY link unfortunately. I also use the Old Girl's TV for PlayStation games.

We started watching Game of Thrones a few weeks back (in the main lounge) but after most of the first season (of about 8) decided that it was derivative crap like the Harry Potter series of books and films.

Richard, of course, goes off topic straight away to talk about himself.
I note that she has a fireplace but the room seems warmer and friendly where you watch TV. Would it be possible to move both TV's into the same room and one person use earphones?

Maybe you could use conditioning. Sit in her room for one minute then return to yours. Then a little longer...

Let it go Robert.. Let it go.

Didn't the Beatles write a song with that title?

No.
