What is coriander and which of its characteristics does not appeal?

It's a herb. It is pungent and has an overpowering and cloying flavour.
I'm astounded that you don't know what it is but this reinforces my argument that cafes don't inform diners of what is in their meals.
you have probably unknowingly eaten coriander and wondered why your salad, burger, meal isn't very nice.
