TEMPUS FUGIT

A pictorial translation for those from the G classes

Robert, that chronologically and reality challenged blogger from Moera asked recently, in a comment on his own post, what I thought of the roads back in 1905.

Now I know that I'm older than Richard (by 12 days), that ancient blogger from Wainuiomarsland but, 1905 - really!

By coincidence, today someone posted an old 1934 photograph of Whangarei Heads Road, taken from just around the corner from where I live.

Mount Manaia, Whangarei Heads, 1934 NZ Herald image.

I took a photograph of roughly the same spot (2020).

Come on, that's a different hill!

Same old feature but from a different century. Something you get told all the time I guess.

Thanks that was a really good answer. Much appreciated.

That picture could have been the bloody Wainui hill!

No, it isn't ring-fenced with razor wire to keep the residents in.

Funny guy! ...who takes pictures of the wrong hill.

This from a joker who can't tell the difference between Wellington and NYC.
