* Robert and Richard, the other bloggers are halfway there.
Oscar Wilde is probably the most famous 'wit' followed by George Bernard Shaw, Noel Coward, and Mark Twain but obviously there are millions of others who haven't 'had as much press' or who've lived in isolated communitiesWainuiomata, a remote suburb of the Hutt Valley had a famous wit. Her name was Chloe (now residing in Napier) and famously quipped "I'm a tea-aholic. I'm not an alcoholic".
To date research has not uncovered any famous Moera wits but we did unearth this quote from a racegoer at the now defunct Hutt Raceway Trotting Club -
"Horse sense is the thing a horse has which keeps it from betting on people. "
At least Robert and Richard are keeping the tradition going with their 'funny' quips on the blog posts.
