...... but the area is flooding. I think the road link from the Heads to Whangarei will be cut off by now with washouts.
It rained all evening and through the night with no letup. It's 9.40AM and still raining heavily.
I recall something similar in 2011 see: HERE when bridges were washed away. Luckily we did a big supermarket shop on Monday so we have enough provisions in case we are stranded.
