It was cold and blustery yesterday, rained and blew through the night and now we seem to be getting Lower Hutt weather which is an indication of winter coming at last.
The HRV monitor shows that it's 16 degrees in the roof and 17 degrees in the house. In Northland terms this is like a polar blast.
We stayed in bed drinking tea and reading for as long as possible and then got up. I decided to light the lounge wood burner at long last. It hasn't been used since 2019. Last year I had both wood burners reconditioned and certificated but hadn't had occasion to light them until now.
I collected wood from the woodshed and set the fire.
We should be in for a cosy afternoon.

Good to know that it was the woodshed you got wood from and not the fridge.
...or the microwave.
...or a drawer in the bedroom.
...or the medicine cabinet.
At our age we need to be specific.
Robert,, it's better than reading in bed and lying which is what your pal Trent Horn most likely does.
