The best news on the Birthday honours list today was seeing Jacinda made a dame.
I, like her am not a royalist but award institutions like this are there to recognise effort, passion and dedication and Jacinda Ardern deserves this although I doubt she will ever flaunt it.
Another who I was happy to see on the list is Nicky Hager.
Good on you mate. I haven't always agreed with you but you've also shown effort, passion and dedication in the things you believe in.
I didn't notice any abortionists, strippers, Hutt Valley mayors or rampant LGBQT recipients but I'm sure that, in addition to Jacinda, Robert will find some who he objects to.

Go Dame Jacinda!
I enjoyed the song, was it the musical 'South Pacific'?
I stood behind Jacinda once in a photo, but I felt uncomfortable, she never opposed abortion, yet most scientists confirm that human life begins at conception!
I guess that you must feel uncomfortable 77% of the time when you are out and about.*
*Overall, three-quarters - 77 per cent - of New Zealanders responded in favour of allowing abortion. - NZ Herald report.
Yes. Utilitarianism dominates in our society over moral universalism.
And the problem with that is?
Utilitarianism is the idea that what is right is what provides the greatest good for the majority.
"There are some real issues with utilitarianism as a sole principle for ethical decision making.
Utilitarianism isn’t concerned with what is right or true.
It doesn’t care how you do the good thing.
It doesn’t respect the dignity of the minority.
It fails to properly account for justice.
The judgment of what constitutes good is often made by the person or persons in power."

Welcome to the real world.
If this is the real world, stop the bus driver!
Well, that’s a variation of the Charon myth.
