SHRINKFLATION

 SHRINKFLATION

It might sound funny but it's a real thing worldwide. We've all noticed it with the reduced sizes of chocolate bars, biscuits, snack bars, soft drinks, cleaning products and pretty near every packaged item we buy in supermarkets.

Product quality downwards engineering is another rort, most noticeable in wines where the same label is used for a basically more cheaply made wine. There are lots of examples.

On my latest supermarket shopping trip I bought a pack of ziplock freezer bags and, when storing them away noticed the contents message on the pack.

19 bags!
19 bags!
Who the hell packs an odd number like 19? Some jumped up little production jerk, trying to win favour with his or her dumb and greedy bosses proposed this and the dishonest bastards went along with it to save some money in the long run. Well, for me this doesn't work as all it's done is lose my consumer loyalty. I won't be buying anything from these bastards again - Ziploc by SC Johnson.

Sheesh!
