Baruch Spinoza, Dutch philosopher, appears to be famous for a book he wrote on ethics. As a pantheist he believed that God and the universe are the same, meaning I guess that God is not pure spirit and thus not separate from what God created, Which, to coin Peter's favourite word is 'nonsense'. Maybe he knew more about ethics than theology!

I’d rather go with Spinoza than you if I wasn’t an atheist.
